With this course, students begin level A2 of language proficiency. They refine their use of verb tenses, enrich their vocabulary, and learn how to communicate with greater precision and confidence. The course covers various aspects of communication and interaction in Italian, such as describing and purchasing clothes, expressing opinions, giving advice, and making proposals, and booking appointments or tickets. In addition to language skills, the course also focuses on Italian culture.

PLIDA B1 preparatory course" is an intensive Italian language program designed specifically to equip students with the necessary skills to pass the PLIDA B1 exam, a standardized test that certifies proficiency in Italian at the intermediate level (B1) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), allowing them to understand and communicate in everyday situations, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking on familiar topics; the course focuses on familiarizing students with the exam format, practice questions, and test-taking strategies to achieve a successful result on the PLIDA B1 assessment.

In this introductory course, students will learn fundamental phonetic, grammatical, and lexical structures through conversations and simple dialogues. This course teaches students to greet formally and informally, introduce themselves, share and request contact information, discuss their age and feelings, and communicate in a classroom setting. They will learn to start conversations, introduce others, apologize, thank people, make reservations, order food, and ask for the bill. Additionally, students will discuss hobbies, likes and dislikes, express agreement and disagreement, count to 100, and ask and answer questions about the time.

The course covers various aspects of communication and interaction in Italian, such as going shopping, buying groceries, and asking politely for what they need, describing stores, talking about their work, a typical workday, and their daily routine, describing and talking about their family. In addition to language skills, the course also focuses on Italian culture.

PLIDA Intermediate Italian Class B1.3 (In-Person)

Calendar Apr 2, 2025 at 7 pm, runs for 10 weeks

This course completes level B1 of language proficiency and is for students who have completed Italian B1.2 or have an equivalent level. It refines language skills, expands vocabulary, and deepens comprehension of written and spoken Italian while exploring cultural perspectives. Students will practice narrating events, expressing incredulity, asking indirect questions, and seeking or providing information. The course also covers reporting speech, highlighting places, expressing disagreement or disappointment, using irony, and moderating discussions. Additionally, it includes making past hypotheses and reflecting on language learning.
