with Maria Conte

Calendar Apr 1, 2026 at 7 pm, runs for 10 weeks

This upper-intermediate course is intended for students who have completed Italian B2.2 or possess an equivalent level of proficiency. It aims to further strengthen linguistic and communicative skills, preparing students for more sophisticated and structured interactions in Italian. The course offers an in-depth exploration of the thematic areas introduced in PLIDA B2.2—such as society, history, geography, and art—while fostering continued development in the four language skills (reading, listening, speaking, and writing). Cultural discussions and materials will deepen students’ understanding of key aspects of contemporary Italy.

Students will explore sustainable Italy while developing their ability to communicate thoughtfully and effectively in Italian. They will learn how to express opinions, evaluations, doubts, and concerns—especially in relation to environmental issues—as well as how to make proposals and express wishes. Students will also practice explaining ideas clearly, giving compliments, asking for and offering advice, and discussing cultural events in a detailed and informed way. In addition, they will develop their ability to conduct interviews, challenge commonly held opinions, clarify and refine points, and engage in structured discussions, further strengthening both their linguistic competence and critical thinking skills.
