In this introductory course, students will learn fundamental phonetic, grammatical, and lexical structures through conversations and simple dialogues. This course teaches students to greet formally and informally, introduce themselves, share and request contact information, discuss their age and feelings, and communicate in a classroom setting. They will learn to start conversations, introduce others, apologize, thank people, make reservations, order food, and ask for the bill. Additionally, students will discuss hobbies, likes and dislikes, express agreement and disagreement, count to 100, and ask and answer questions about the time.

In addition to language instruction, it emphasizes Italian culture. Students will learn to discuss vacations in present and past tenses, inquire about information and prices, and react to situations. They will also talk about food preferences, grocery shopping, giving suggestions, and expressing opinions. Furthermore, the course includes discussions on health, reporting and describing symptoms, offering advice, and talking about one's relationship with sports.

The course covers various aspects of communication and interaction in Italian, such as discussing the future, expressing intentions and desires, writing job applications, making assumptions and conditions, discussing work and working conditions, storytelling, expressing curiosity and disappointment, describing situations, expressing needs and desires, presenting arguments, and making comparisons. In addition to language skills, the course also focuses on Italian culture.
